Abstract
It is shown that the differences in cognitive conflict between American and Western European subjects found by Hammond, Bonauito, Faucheux, Moscovici, Fröhlich, Joyce, and Di Majo (1968) can be explained by differences in procedure between the American and European experiments in the Hammond et al. study. Keywords
