Abstract
A diet was described on which the larvae of the silkworm, Bombyx mori, show suboptimal growth. This diet consists of mulberry leaf powder, starch, sucrose, soybean casein, soybean oil, Wesson's salt mixture, and cellulose powder. In the absence of the oil there was no larva which reached the second instar. Keywords
