Abstract
The fate of testosterone admd. intraven. in exptl. animals has been investigated. The injd. hormone diffused rapidly into various tissues of the body, the highest concn. being found in fat. However, within 3 hrs. no measurable amts of testosterone in the fatty tissues. The liver and kidney are both sites of testosterone metabolism in the mammal. That sites other than liver and kidney might be involved in the metabolism of testosterone was indicated by studies in hepatectomized, nephrectomized animals in which less than 50% of the testosterone injd. could be accounted for in most of the tissues.
