Abstract
Manitol fermentation, especially under anaerobic conditions is a reliable method of detecting coagulase positive staphylococci in milk. Beta hemolytic staphylococci predominate in milk. Gelatin liquifaction and the use of tellurite glycine agar are not reliable to detect coagulase positive staphylococci, but most strains from milk produce urease. This publication has 48 references indexed in Scilit:
