Zur Kenntnis der Barium- und Strontiumhalogenidhydrate / About Barium and Strontium Halide Hydrates

Abstract
The following alkaline earth halide hydrates could be found by differential thermal analysis: SrCl2 · 6H2O, SrCl2 · 2H2O, SrCl2 · H2O; SrBr2 · 6H2O, SrBr2 · H2O; SrJ2 · 6H2O, SrJ2 · H2O; BaCl2 · 2H2O, BaCl2 · H2O; BaBr2 · 2H2O, BaBr2 · H2O; BaJ2 · 6H2O, BaJ2 · 2H2O, BaJ2 · H2O. The dehydration temperatures increase with the size of the anions and decrease with the radius of the cations. The dehydration of SrCl2 · H2O gives rise to two DTA-peaks, but there is no half-hydrate formed according to high-temperature IR-measurements. The X-ray data of Sr J2. H2O are communicated.
