Congenital Dyserythropoietic Anemia with Ultrastructure Findings Compatible with both Types I and II

Abstract
A patient with congenital dyserythropoietic anemia with serological findings and electron microscopic features compatible with those of types I and II is described. The anemia was characterized by erythroblastic multinuclearity, ineffective erythropoiesis, negative acidified serum test and negative sugar water test. The cold antibody lysis test (anti-I) was significantly positive and there was no evidence of anti-i.
