Spinal Epidural Abscess in a 1-Month-Old Child

Abstract
SUPPURATION occurring in the spinal epidural space is an uncommon though well-known entity in adults and older children.1-3 On the other hand, only very few cases have been reported in children below 5 years of age. Only four patients under 1 year of age are known,4-7 although not a single patient in this age range has been operated upon successfully. The purpose of this paper is to report a 5-week-old infant with this disease. The disease was surgically corrected with apparent complete recovery.
