The Differentiation of Cytotoxic and Hemagglutinating Antibodies in Anti-Hela Cell Rabbit Sera

Abstract
Rabbits injected with viable HeLa cells produce cytotoxic antibodies and antibodies that agglutinate human erythrocytes of all major blood groups. By means of absorption with HeLa cells, the cytotoxic antibodies may be removed without decreasing the titer of hemagglutinating antibodies. These results suggest that the antibodies producing cytotoxicity and hemagglutination are different antibodies.
