Abstract
The loss in wt. of coils of cotton thread in the rumen was detd. with cows on diets of ground and un-ground hay, with and without concentrates. The rate of callulose breakdown was related to the dry matter content of the surrounding digesta; low dry matter content favoring rapid cellulose breakdown.Keywords
