Abstract
Cigarette smoke residue is ciliatoxic to Tetrahymena pyriformis. Principal sites of activity are the mitochondria of the cell. The internal membranes of the mitochondria are degraded with time, correlating well with loss of ciliary activity and cell death. Keywords
