Beeinflussung von Virulenz und Immunogenität beiPasteurella multocida durch Eisenin vitro

Abstract
The virulence of P. multocida strains in experimental infections of mice depends on the Fe contents of the cultivation media. Frequent passages of bacteria on Fe-deficient growth media result in drastic decrease of virulence. In the case of 1 strain, immunogenicity was lowered. The results with nutritional media differing in their Fe contents show that Fe probably exhibits a regulatory effect on the production of a not yet identified virulence.
