Abstract
The virulence of P. multocida strains in experimental infections of mice depends on the Fe contents of the cultivation media. Frequent passages of bacteria on Fe-deficient growth media result in drastic decrease of virulence. In the case of 1 strain, immunogenicity was lowered. The results with nutritional media differing in their Fe contents show that Fe probably exhibits a regulatory effect on the production of a not yet identified virulence.This publication has 31 references indexed in Scilit:
