Abstract
A new tantalum trisulfide with a monoclinic unit cell has been characterized : a = 9.515 (2) Å, b = 3.341 2 (4) Å, c = 14.912 (2) Å, β = 109.99° (2), V = 445.5 Å3 with Z = 6. The compound presents two transitions, one of a Peierls type metal-insulator at 210 K and the other at 160 KKeywords
