A temperate phage omega was isolated in high titre from ultra-violet irradiated cultures of Aerobacterium tumefaciens, strain B6. Phage assays were made on a sensitive strain obtained by extraordinarily heavy ultra-violet irradiation of B6. The possible role of phage in the etiology of crown-gall tumor induction is discussed.
