Abstract
There are as yet few insect pests in the Pinus radiata plantations of Australia, New Zealand, Chile and Europe. The present insect pests of these plantations are discussed and a comparison is made between those occurring in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. Forecasts of possible future insect problems are made based on past experience, risks of accidental importations, and current forestry practices. Keywords
