Abstract
[longdash]Recent developments on plant control by chemical agents can be applied advantageously to the field of waterfowl habitat management. These herbicides can be classified into 2 groups: hormones, such as 2,4-dichloro-phenoxyacetic acid and non-hormones, such as ammonium sulfa-mate, that poison vegetation. Successful control of pest vegetation requires appln. during its most susceptible stage of growth. The selectivity characteristics of some of these herbicides makes it possible to destroy some plants without killing others. Effective appln. of plant control agents necessitates control of objectionable vegetation where replacement by plants of value to waterfowl will occur. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
