Abstract
This review deals with the insulin hypersensitivity states which are attributable to endocrine deficiencies, and particularly those induced experimentally, by hypophysectomy and adrenalectomy. It characterizes the disturbance, discusses factors contributing to it, and elucidates the metabolic derangements responsible. Glucose production and utilization of physiological insulin antagonists,-growth hormone, adrenocortical steroids, epinephrine, glucagon, prolactin, thyroid, and sex hormones -are reviewed. Keywords
