Extensions of the Widom Model for Two- and Three-Component Liquid Mixtures

Abstract

A decorated lattice model recently proposed by Widom in a study of the plait points in two- and three-component liquid mixtures is extended to include the effects of interactions between molecules on the model's primary lattice. The extended model exhibits a variety of behavior with changing temperature. A decorated lattice model of a three-component mixture is also presented, and the behavior of its plait point is discussed.
