Abstract
P-Aminosalicylic acid (PAS) partially inhibits the growth of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, but is less effective alone than either streptomycin or isoniazid. At low concentrations, little effect is observed by the addition of PAS. At high concentrations of streptomycin, isoniazid, or both, addition of PAS increases the bactericidal effect, and resistant forms are entirely suppressed.
