PULMONARY ARTERIAL PRESSURE IN THE GUINEA PIG

Abstract
A simple method of measuring the pulmonary arterial pressure in guinea pigs without occluding the circulation is described, which for animals weighing 350-400 gm. varies between 85-150 mm. water. Intravenous injection of horse serum caused marked constriction of the pulmonary vessels. Injection of adrenalin produced the customary result.
