Enzyme Activities in the Cornea Epithelium and Endothelium of Different Species

Abstract
Investigation of the activities of glycolytic, citric acid cycle and pentose phosphate shunt enzymes. In the cornea epithelium, species variations were found between rabbit, pig, cattle and man. In each of these species, the cornea endothelium was distinguished from the epithelium by much lower activities of the NADP dependent enzymes. It was concluded that the enzyme activities represented differences in the function of these tissues.
