The commutation relations of the algebra of SU/sub 3/ are used to construct a simple graphical picture of the irreducible representations. The graphs are useful in the reduction of products of irreducible representations. A simple systematic method for the calculation of the generalized Clebsch-Gordan coefficients is also presented.
