Abstract
Chloramphenicol was used successfully in the treatment of 300 cases of typhoid and in 30 cases of paratyphoid. The clinical history of each case was followed and the results carefully tabulated. Serious toxic side-effects rather frequently developed and had to be watched carefully. Relapses were greatly diminished through the use of a vaccine (TAB) immediately following the completion of the antibiotic therapy. Keywords
