Abstract
This paper presents a new I/Q regeneration technique for direct receivers which employ quadrature modulation. The technique is based on the property that the I/Q components of the received signal are uncorrelated, and is applicable to any quadrature modulation. A K-band 5-port junction based direct receiver prototype has been developed which supports a data rate of 89.472 Mbps with QPSK modulation. The bit error rate performance has been simulated and measured, and the results are presented. Keywords
