‘Double armed’ crown ethers with specific cation transport ability

Abstract

Macrocyclic polyethers having two ‘arms’ available for cation binding provide new and characteristic transport abilities, based on their unique ligand topology, which not attained in the usual crown ether and cryptand systems.
