Abstract
Energy based ablative procedures have triggered considerable interest in the treatment of select renal tumors. Renal cryoablation is the most studied of all the energy based ablative procedures and shows considerable promise. Radiofrequency ablation has also been recently reported as a potential treatment option. This manuscript reviews the current literature, experimental and clinical, on the application of cryoablation and radiofrequency ablation for the treatment of renal tumors. Keywords
