Abstract
In the case of rabbit hemoglobin made by living cells, the notion that protein synthesis occurs by stepwise sequential addition of amino acids to a polypeptide chain growing from the NH2-terminal toward the COOH-terminal end has been verified for 5 peptides of the a chain and 7 peptides of the [beta] chain. Keywords
