Random one-body approximation to the Hubbard model. II. One-dimensional case

Abstract
Our random one-body approximation is applied to the one-dimensional half-filled Hubbard model. New insight is gained regarding the nature of the elementary excitations of the system, especially around the little understood region in the vicinity of the metal-insulator transition. The obtained results are in impressive quantitative agreement with exact many-body results and accurate numerical data.
