Abstract
Low viscosity polyvinyl acetate dissolved in 80% ethanol-water was a useful mounting medium for the preservation of a number of stains. These included, esterase methods (naphthyl acetate and complex naphthol AS derivatives), alkaline phosphatase (azo-dye and calcium-cobalt methods), hematoxylin, celestin blue, periodic acid-Schiff, and aldehyde fuchsin.
