Experimental Evidence for Brillouin Asymmetry Induced by a Temperature Gradient

Abstract
Very-low-angle Brillouin light-scattering experiments have been performed in liquid water subjected to a temperature gradient. The line intensities are unequal, and both the sign and the order of magnitude of this effect agree with recent theoretical calculations for nonequilibrium systems.Keywords
