π-Meson Production inp−pCollisions

Abstract

A measurement of the momentum spectra of ${\pi }^{+}$ and ${\pi }^{-}$ mesons produced at 0° and 17° in the laboratory in $p-p$ collisions is reported. Incoming proton energies of 2.85, 2.4, and 2.0 BeV were investigated. From the ${\pi }^{-}$ spectra an upper limit is set on the production of a possible $D^{+++}$ state.
