Abstract
Equivalent circuits which represent the first harmonic steady state behavior of current source inverter (CSI) driven synchronous machines are derived. These circuits, in combination with conventional synchronous machine phasor diagrams, yield complete steady state performance predictions for all types of CSI-synchronous machine drives. The effect of the inverter is shown to be to eliminate the normal role of the synchronous reactance in establishing equilibrium between the applied and internal voltages. Keywords
