Interaction Matrix Element in a Shell Model

Abstract
The matrix elements of two-particle interactions between states of many-particle configurations are expressed as products of one-particle reduced matrix elements and of a single recoupling coefficient. Applications are given to the Coulomb interaction of configurations and to all three-electron configurations.
