An open improved method for complete thymectomy is described and illustrated. With proper aseptic technic and some experience, the operation can be performed successfully in nearly all cases. Observations for 2-7 months after thymectomy in rabbits 4-36 months old when operated showed that it had no immediate appreciable influence on general health or state of nutrition.
