Abstract
Efficient laser action is reported for the (F2+)A center in KI with tunability now extending from 2.38 to 3.99 μm. For the F2+ and (F2+)A centers coexisting in KI, the combined lasing range is 1.98–3.85 μm. The 1.73-μm line of a pulsed Er:YLF laser pumped both centers simultaneously. Keywords
