Abstract
Liver and muscle tissues of rabbits, at the time of insulin convulsions, contain amounts of reducing sugar similar to those of normal rabbits. The sugar may not be available for use. Glucosan did not modify insulin convulsions; glucol relieved them promptly. In the laboratory these substances are readily converted into glucose and mannose, respectively, both of which relieve convulsions. Recovery may be due to a delicate selective mechanism on the lines of enzyme and substrate. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
