Abstract
An amount of isoniazid which inhibits growth of M. smegmatis in a minimal medium in test tubes is also effective in inhibiting growth in a similar medium in the Warburg. The drug has no effect on oxidative reactions in the presence of glucose and glycerol. Previous work is confirmed showing that isoniazid inhibits the oxidation of putrescine by M. smegmatis and that isoniazid inhibits 30% of the oxidation of acetate when the organisms are grown in the absence of glucose and glycerol. Keywords
