STUDIES ON ANTIBODY PRODUCTION

Abstract
The acceleration and decline of antibody production in a previously described in vitro secondary antibody response system followed a time course similar to that reported for the in vivo secondary response. The sequence of changes in the morphology of antibody-producing cells by immunofluorescence was similar in vivo and in vitro. The minimal concentration of antigen (bovine serum albumin) required to stimulate a detectable antibody response in vitro was between 10-9 and 10-8 gm/ml.
