Abstract
The effects of suction and Hall currents on unsteady flow of an electrically conducting fluid past a uniformly accelerated flat porous plate imbedded in a uniform external magnetic field transverse to it is considered. It is assumed that the induced magnetic field is negligible compared to the imposed magnetic field. Series solutions for velocity and skin-friction are obtained under the assumption that the hydromagnetic parameter ( Mt ) is small. The profiles for the velocity components are shown graphically with the effects of the Hall parameter m, the hydromagnetic parameter ( Mt ), and the suction parameter α. The numerical values of the skin-friction components are given in tabular form for different values of the parameters. Keywords
