Abstract
Previous to stuttering there is an expectancy or anticipation phenomenon which is marked by physiological changes and general and specific anxiety in relationship to stuttering. The author describes several studies concerned with certain functional properties of anxiety in their relationship to other kinds of fear and anxiety. Stutering-behavior provides an excellent opportunity for the study of anxiety. Keywords
