Abstract
The equation of state of elements under high pressures (1010 to 1014 dyn‐cm−2) is investigated basing on the statistical model developed in the previous paper [1]. These data are compared with the Thomas‐Fermi and Thomas‐Fermi‐Dirac theories, and also with the experiment. The present statistical model, in general, predicts that the pressures needed to obtain a given macroscopical density of an element are greater than those obtained from the Thomas‐Fermi‐Dirac theory. This agrees with experiment in the pressure region from about 1011 to above 1012 dyn‐cm−2.This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
