An analysis of 430 women fitted with the IUCD is presented, various factors in the analysis being given in tabular form. It is concluded that the method is reasonably effective, generally very acceptable to the patients and associated with few problems as regards initial insertion. Longer term problems have been shown to be concerned mainly with alterations in menstrual loss and cycle. Infection has not been a problem, expulsions few and removals for reasons directly concerned with the device also few.
