Abstract
The directional characteristics of low-frequency magnetometers constructed from transversely field-annealed magnetoelastic amorphous metal ribbons has been investigated. The ribbon response is found to obey a cosine dependence to the field orientation relative to the ribbon longitudinal axis. This behavior is conducive to sensing both field direction and magnitude. Keywords
