Abstract
A morphological, karyological and biochemical study of 2 established cell lines of human malignant melanocytes derived from the same original tumor, when compared with heterotransplantation results in nude mice, showed that nonpigmented cells are more tumorigenic than pigmented cells. Differentiation and tumorigenicity, although concomitant, seem to be independent phenomena.
