DEVELOPMENT OF OSSIFICATION CENTRES IN INFANTS OF DIABETIC MOTHERS

Abstract
The development of ossification centers in infants born of diabetic mothers corresponds to their short gestational age. These infants must, therefore, be considered premature despite their increased birth weight and length. The latter presumably increases the functional immaturity, making it even greater than that corresponding to their gestation age.
