A Single Blood Culture for Confirmation of the Diagnosis of Neonatal Septicemia

Abstract
A retrospective study of 366 neonates from whom blood was drawn and cultured revealed 56 infants with positive cultures. Twenty-eight neonates were considered to have septicemia, and a single blood culture provided satisfactory confirmation of the septicemia in each of these cases.
