Abstract
The effects of posterior pituitary extracts on the excretion of water, Na, K and Cl after the admn. of water, 0.05 [image] NaCl or Ringer''s to rats were detd. At doses of pituitrin greater than 10 m.[mu]/100g., Na, K and Cl excretion was accelerated regardless of the magnitude of the salt load. Both pitressin and pitocin increase salt output equally, despite a striking difference in their anti-diuretic effect. Keywords
