Abstract
Photoemission spectra using incident photon energies of 40.8 eV have been recorded for several dichalcogenides of metals of groups IV, V, and VI, with layer structures. The valence band densities of states so measured show the progressive development of d bands in these materials. These results are compared with the predictions of available band models for these compounds. Keywords
