Abstract
Three age groups were studied: (I) dogs over 10 yrs. old, (II) dogs 1 1/2-5 yrs. old, and (III) pups 3-8 mos. old. All animals were given a daily injn. of histamine in wax for 5 successive days and then sacrified. In Group I, 93% of the dogs developed ulcers or erosions and 29% died of a perforated ulcer; in Group II, 23% of dogs developed an ulcer or erosion with no perforations; and in III, only 10% developed a gastrointestinal lesion, with no perforations occurring. Keywords
