Abstract
Rabbits with latent syphilis, given large doses of cortisone, showed a decline in established levels of TPI and reagin antibody and an increased incidence of spirochetemia. An infectious relapse occurred in one rabbit. Cortisone had no effect on the development of TPI titers in syphilitic mice, but caused an increase in the infectivity of the tissues of mice which had received large infecting doses of organisms. Keywords
