Abstract
The differential cross sections for the excitation of the O(3P-3S) transition for incident electron angles of 100 eV to 500 eV at scattering angles of theta =2.5 degrees to 20 degrees are presented. The cross sections are made absolute by normalising the generalised oscillator strength to the known optical oscillator strength by extrapolating the generalised oscillator strength curve to the zero value of the momentum transfer. Keywords
